In co-operation between the Aviation Maintenance Technician School and the BonAeroClub, 10 students spent a day of study at Flamingo Airport on Saturday June 28, including a sightseeing flight over Bonaire.
The AMTS is a new school on Bonaire which – after many years of preparation – was founded in 2007 bij Aviation Maintenance specialist Jacinto Frans. Today this training-college has already 18 students who follow the day- or night-school to become an aviation maintenance technician. Worldwide there is a shortage of well trained maintance specialists, so this a profession with high perspective. The school is unique in the Caribbean and offers young people the opportunity of a dynamic carreer in aviation.

To inform the students about General Aviation, they were invited to visit the aeroplane of the BonAeroClub. Special attention was given to the engine, instruments and controls of the plane. Then all students enjoyed a sightseeing flight in this Cessna 172. A successful day, completed with a photo of the whole group.

Cursisten Aviation Maintenance de lucht in met de BonAeroClub

In samenwerking tussen de Aviation Maintenance Technician School en de BonAeroClub hebben 10 cursisten een studiedag doorgebracht op Flamingo Airport op zaterdag 28 juni, inclusief een rondvlucht boven Bonaire.

De AMTS is een nieuwe school die – na jarenlange voorbereiding - in 2007 door Aviation Maintenance specialist Jacinto Frans op Bonaire is gestart. Inmiddels volgen 18 cursisten deze dag- en avondopleiding tot onderhoudsmonteur aan vliegtuigen. Een beroep met toekomst, want er is wereldwijd een groot tekort aan goed onderhoudspersoneel. De school is uniek in het Caribische gebied en biedt jonge mensen de kans op een dynamische carrière.

Om de cursisten kennis te laten maken met General Aviation hebben zij het vliegtuig van de BonAeroClub bezichtigd, waarbij de techniek van motor, instrumenten en besturing alle aandacht kreeg. Daarna hebben zij met deze Cessna 172 een rondvlucht gemaakt. Een geslaagde dag, die vanzelfsprekend werd afgesloten met een groepsfoto voor het vliegtuig.
